Football Game Preview: Strafford vs. Forsyth

If the MaxPreps state rankings hold true, the near future looks bright for Strafford. They will challenge Forsyth on the road at 7:00 PM on Friday. Strafford don't have the home-field advantage, but they do enjoy an advantage in the MaxPreps rankings.

Last Friday, Strafford put the finishing touches on their 6th blowout victory of the season. They blew past Skyline 38-14. No one put up better numbers for Strafford than senior Wyatt Maples, who brought his A game into the match. He picked up 85 yards on the ground and threw 3 TDs. If you haven't heard Maples's name lately, then you haven't been paying much attention: he has loomed large in their past seven games.

Meanwhile, Forsyth have to be hurting after a devastating 6-28 defeat at the hands of Stockton/Sheldon. Forsyth's defeat continues a disappointing trend for the squad, making it seven losses in a row.

Strafford's victory lifted them to 6-1 while Forsyth's loss dropped them down to 0-7. We'll find out if Strafford can add another positive mark to their record or if Forsyth can shake off the loss and take the spring out of Strafford's step.
