Basketball Recap: Johnson Now 8-2 over Last Ten Games

It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Johnson ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They secured a 54-48 W over the Fort Bend Clements Rangers. While the Jaguars didn't have the best season last year (they finished 15-20), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Daryl Banks was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 20 points and 11 boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Ian Joshua, who posted seven points in addition to six rebounds and three steals.

Despite the loss, Fort Bend Clements still got an impressive performance from Aziz Olajuwon, who dropped a double-double on 27 points and ten rebounds. Olajuwon has been hot recently, having posted nine or more boards the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Keshav Vijaykumar, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine boards.

Johnson has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.2 points per game. As for Fort Bend Clements, their loss dropped their record down to 3-5.

Johnson didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 60-55 victory against Clear Falls on the 6th. As for Fort Bend Clements, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 57-46 win against Crosby on the 6th.
