Carlsbad was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 17-6 to the Cajon Cowboys. One positive for the Lancers, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.
Emerson Jarrard was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in May of 2024. Chloe Hernandez was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
Even though they lost, Carlsbad was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Carlsbad's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Cajon, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 4-5 record this season.
Carlsbad will challenge Poway at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Poway's pitching crew has only allowed 2.4 runs per game this season, so Carlsbad's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Cajon, they will square off against Summit at 3:30 p.m. on the 31st.
