Saratoga waltzed into their contest on Friday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. They came out on top against the Santa Clara Bruins by a score of 7-2. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 10-0 back in April.

Saira Ramakrishnan spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on four hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in eight consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Alyssa Tham was excellent, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. Avi Chauhan also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen bases of the season.

Saratoga hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in four consecutive matches.

Saratoga's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-2. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Santa Clara, they now have a losing record of 10-11.

Coming up, Saratoga will head out on the road to face off against Monta Vista at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Falcons are facing the Matadors at the right time seeing as the Matadors are stuck on a ten-game losing streak. As for Santa Clara, they will welcome Fremont at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Bruins' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Firebirds have averaged an impressive 8 runs per game this season.
