Softball Recap: Legacy Christian Academy Comes Up Short

Legacy Christian Academy scored first but ultimately less than Dayton Christian in their contest on Monday. They fell 20-17 to the WARRIORS. The Knights were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the WARRIORS earlier this season, when they won 13-3.

Ali Solomon stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she went 4-for-5 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Tessa West also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

Legacy Christian Academy has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season. Those defeats can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for Dayton Christian, the victory was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 4-5.

While Legacy Christian Academy had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
