Baseball Recap: Latta Gets the Win

Latta let Johnsonville stack five runs on them in the sixth inning on Thursday but luckily Latta prevailed anyway. The Vikings had just enough and edged out the Flashes 9-8. The Vikings haven't had any issues with the Flashes recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Latta let Logan Byrd and Zach Lane run wild. Byrd went 2-for-4 with five RBI and one double, while Lane got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those five RBI gave Byrd a new career-high. BW Berry was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.

Latta's win bumped their record up to 19-8. As for Johnsonville, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-7.

As of now, neither Latta nor the Flashes have any future games scheduled.
