Recap: Elmira Express vs. Binghamton Patriots
The Elmira Express lost to the Binghamton Patriots back in February of 2023, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. Elmira put the hurt on Binghamton with a sharp 56-35 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Elmira.
Elmira was led to victory by Mariah Matias and Ellie Clearwater. Matias dropped a double-double on 20 points and 12 rebounds, while Clearwater scored 23 points along with seven rebounds. Matias has been hot recently, having posted ten or more rebounds the last 14 times she's played. Caitlyn Wagner was another key contributor, scoring four points along with ten rebounds and four steals.
Elmira's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-8. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.7 points per game. As for Binghamton, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.
Elmira will head out on the road to challenge Corning-Painted Post at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Elmira is facing Corning-Painted Post at the right time seeing as Corning-Painted Post is stuck on a eight-game losing streak. Binghamton does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
