Football Recap: Central Piles Up the Points Against Shawnee

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Central). They claimed a resounding 49-0 victory over the Shawnee Golden Eagles. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Yellow Jackets considering their six-point performance the match before.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Central to victory, but perhaps none more so than Rashad Johnson, who rushed for 81 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Those 81 rushing yards gave Johnson a new career-high. Another signal caller making a difference was Phillip Baker Jr., who threw for 181 yards and two TDs on only 17 passes.

The win got Central back to even at 2-2. As for Shawnee, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 2-2.

Looking ahead, Central will venture away from home to challenge Bullitt East at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Shawnee, they will host Fort Knox at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
