Baseball Recap: Glenns Ferry's Win Ends Four-Game Losing Streak at Home

The matchup between Glenns Ferry and Gem State Adventist Academy on Monday hardly resembled the 0-0 effort from their previous meeting. The Pilots blew past the Jaguars 16-4. Considering the Pilots have won eight matchups by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Carson Traudt was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Glenns Ferry's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 5-10-1 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Alan Mesillas, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double.

Glenns Ferry always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .517. The last time their OBP was this high was back in March.

Glenns Ferry's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-10-1. As for Gem State Adventist Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 1-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Glenns Ferry will challenge Lighthouse Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Pilots' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Lions have averaged an impressive 10.8 runs per game this season. As for Gem State Adventist Academy, they will square off against North Star at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
