Basketball Game Preview: Eustis Panthers vs. Gibbs Gladiators

After both having extra time off, the Eustis Panthers and the Gibbs Gladiators will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court one another at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Eustis comes in on six and Gibbs on 19.

Eustis is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup last Thursday. They managed a 56-50 victory over Atlantic.

Eustis' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Lomar Sparrow, who posted 13 points and six boards. That's the most points Sparrow has posted since back in December of 2024. Cornelius Hines was another key player, dropping a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds.

Meanwhile, Gibbs escaped with a win last Thursday against Blake by the margin of a single free throw, 50-49.

The match pitted two dominant guards against one another in Jacob Daniels and Joe Philon. Daniels had a solid game and put up 21 points and eight boards. Meanwhile, Philon did his best for the losing side, almost dropping a double-double with 13 points and nine rebounds.

Eustis' win bumped their record up to 21-8. As for Gibbs, their victory bumped their record up to 26-4.
