Preview: Clayton Comets vs. South View Tigers
The Clayton Comets will be playing at home against the South View Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Clayton's favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last four games.
Last Friday, Clayton faced Cleveland in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Clayton fell just short of Cleveland by a score of 33-31. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
Meanwhile, South View and Jack Britt were almost perfectly matched up on Friday, but South View suffered an agonizing 21-20 defeat. South View has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Tyriq Clarida, who rushed for 20 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 124 yards and a touchdown while completing 75% of his passes. Anthony Farrior was another key contributor, picking up 97 receiving yards and a touchdown.
The losses dropped Clayton to 8-2 and South View to 7-3.
