Volleyball Game Preview: Bunker Hill Minutemen vs. Granite City Warriors

The Bunker Hill Minutemen are taking a road trip to face off against the Granite City Warriors at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Bunker Hill will be strutting in after a win while Granite City will be coming in after a loss.

Bunker Hill took a three-set defeat the last time they faced off against Bishop DuBourg, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Minutemen skirted past the Cavaliers 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Minutemen have posted since April 4, 2024.

Meanwhile, Granite City came up short against Belleville West on Wednesday and fell 2-0. The Warriors haven't had much luck with the Maroons recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.

While Granite City was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the first set. The final score came out to 25-23, 25-11.

The win got Bunker Hill back to even at 1-1. As for Granite City, their loss dropped their record down to 3-3.

Bunker Hill couldn't quite get it done against Granite City in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 as they fell 2-0. Can the Minutemen avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
