Softball Recap: Westlake Demons vs. Holy Name Green Wave
Westlake was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They fell 13-10 to the Holy Name Green Wave. While the Demons didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Green Wave 6-0 in the first period.
Katherine England made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Riley Knapp, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-4.
Westlake's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Holy Name, they pushed their record up to 4-0 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.
When Westlake and Holy Name next hit the field, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Westlake will try to stop Rocky River's three-game winning streak when they meet at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Holy Name will take on Elyria Catholic and their three-game winning streak at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
