The Toledo Boomers will head out to face off against the Myrtle Point Bobcats at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
Toledo made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Reedsport, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Boomers fell just short of Reedsport by a score of 9-7 on Friday. The Boomers' defeat signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Connor Mason put in work no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. That's the fewest earned runs he has allowed since back in March. He was even better at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played.
In other batting news, Kolby Coxen was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That triple was his first of the season.
Meanwhile, Myrtle Point had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 18 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They put the hurt on the Irish with a sharp 13-3 win. The result was nothing new for the Bobcats, who have now won six matches by seven runs or more so far this season.
Skyler Zick was a standout: he went 1-for-4 with four RBI. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Landon Miller, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.
Myrtle Point pushed their record up to 14-4 with the victory, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.4 runs on average over those games. As for Toledo, their loss dropped their record down to 8-6.
Tuesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Toledo hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .340. However, it's not like Myrtle Point struggles in that department as they've averaged .313. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Toledo suffered a grim 9-2 defeat to Myrtle Point when the teams last played on April 1st. Can the Boomers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
