Softball Preview: Calhoun Warriors vs. Seymour Indians
Calhoun is a perfect 6-0 against Seymour since May of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Warriors will square off against the Indians at 4:30 p.m. Calhoun is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.9 runs per game this season.
Calhoun's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. Everything went their way against Greenfield/Northwestern as they made off with a 12-0 victory. Winning may never get old, but the Warriors sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
Audrey Gilman made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out 19 over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 17 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, firing off two home runs and eight RBI while going 2-for-5. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Annie Wilson was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and two runs. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Lilly Pelletier, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs.
Calhoun hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Greenfield/Northwestern struck out 19 times.
Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Seymour's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell 9-4 to Triopia/Meredosia-Chambersburg/Virginia.
Calhoun's record now sits at 15-6. As for Seymour, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-9-1.
Everything went Calhoun's way against Seymour in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Calhoun made off with a 14-2 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Warriors since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
