On Wednesday King Philip Regional's undefeated season almost came to an end. They never let the Milford Scarlet Hawks get on the board and left with a 1-0 win. The one-run effort marked the Warriors' lowest-scoring contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Not much got past Ryan Higgins, who gave up just a hit and racked up 11 Ks to keep Milford off the board. Those 11 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for Higgins.

At the plate, King Philip Regional saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Johnny Prater, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Kevin Heine also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

King Philip Regional pushed their record up to 6-0 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. As for Milford, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-5.

Coming up, King Philip Regional will host Bridgewater-Raynham at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. As for Milford, they will head out on the road to face off against St. John's at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Pioneers' pitching crew has only allowed two runs per game this season, so the Scarlet Hawks' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
