It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Royal ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out the Oak Park Eagles 2-1. The Highlanders haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Julianna Galbraith spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on eight hits and racked up six Ks.

At the plate, Marilyn Augusta was excellent, going 3-for-4 with one run and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Lidija Faubert, who went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Royal's victory bumped their record up to 9-7. As for Oak Park, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-11 record this season.

Royal will be taking part in a tournament against Huntington Beach at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday. As for Oak Park, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Simi Valley at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Pioneers' pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so the Eagles' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
