Basketball Recap: Sealy Snaps Four-Game Streak of Wins at Home

If Sealy was riding high fresh off their 78-40 takedown of Harmony School of Innovation last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Sealy Tigers lost to the Almeta Crawford Chargers at home by a 76-62 margin on Tuesday. That makes it the first time this season the Tigers have let down their home crowd.

Despite the loss, Sealy still got an impressive performance from Noah Washington, who went 9 of 22 en route to 27 points and seven boards. Washington's evening made it seven games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of AJ Cepon, who posted six points and six rebounds.

Even though they lost, Sealy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in 15 consecutive contests.

Almeta Crawford found their leader in sophomore Alvin Mosley, who went 13 for 20 on his way to 36 points in addition to seven boards and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Mosley has scored all season. Bryce Vann was another key player, putting up 11 points along with six rebounds and five assists.

Sealy's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 12-5. As for Almeta Crawford, they pushed their record up to 20-6 with the victory, which was their eighth straight on the road.

Sealy will challenge Fort Bend Willowridge at 5:00 p.m. on January 23rd. As for Almeta Crawford, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 111-41 win against Harmony School of Innovation on the 17th.
