Soccer Game Preview: Oakdale vs. Sierra

The Oakdale Mustangs will challenge the Sierra Timberwolves at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Oakdale's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They came out on top against Manteca by a score of 2-0. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Mustangs as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Hayden Koehler and Jason Martinho scored both of Oakdale's goals, bringing their combined season tally to ten goals.

Meanwhile, Sierra waltzed into their contest on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Buffaloes 2-1. Given the Timberwolves' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 226th, while the Buffaloes are ranked 1036th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Sierra has also been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season. As for Oakdale, their win bumped their record up to 7-9.
