Baseball Recap: Carroll County Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Carroll County, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Eminence Warriors by a score of 7-2 on Thursday. This was a revenge game for the Panthers: when they faced off against the Warriors on Tuesday, they had to take a 3-0 loss.

Preston Snow spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on six hits. He is becoming a predictor of Carroll County's success: when he allows at most three earned runs the team is 3-1 (and 5-6 when he doesn't).

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Luke Taylor, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Coy Willhoite, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

Carroll County now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Eminence, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-9.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Carroll County will challenge Pendleton County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Eminence, they will square off against Henry County at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The Wildcats will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Warriors surely won't give up without a fight.
