Basketball Game Preview: Tumwater Thunderbirds vs. Aberdeen Bobcats

Tumwater is 10-0 against Aberdeen since January of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Wednesday. The Tumwater Thunderbirds will head out to take on the Aberdeen Bobcats at 7:00 p.m. Tumwater is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60.7 points per game this season.

Last Friday, Tumwater was able to grind out a solid win over Black Hills, taking the game 65-55. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Thunderbirds.

Beckett Wall had an outrageously good game as he went 8 for 12 on his way to 19 points and six boards. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in points. Luke Overbay was another key player, putting up eight points and seven rebounds.

Meanwhile, Aberdeen beat Montesano 51-41 on Friday.

Aberdeen's win came from a few key players Tumwater will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Jhacob Quezada, who posted 16 points and five boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaac Garcia, who scored 11 points and four steals.

Aberdeen's victory bumped their record up to 7-10. As for Tumwater, they pushed their record up to 13-5 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home.

Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Tumwater has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 32.4 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Aberdeen struggles in that department as they've been averaging 26.1 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.

Tumwater beat Aberdeen 62-50 when the teams last played back in January. The rematch might be a little tougher for Tumwater since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
