Basketball Recap: American History Extends Winning Streak to Four

American History waltzed into their game on Friday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They came out on top against the Bard Early College Raptors by a score of 75-64. This was payback for the Eagles, who suffered a 58-55 defeat the last time these two teams met.

American History had a senior duo take command as Ihjamir Williams dropped a triple-double on 24 points, 13 boards, and 13 blocks and Ah'Mad Woodard posted 27 points and five steals. Those 13 blocks gave Williams a new career-high. Ah'Zeah Woodard was another key player, putting up eight points in addition to ten assists and five steals.

American History smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards every time they've taken the court this season.

American History's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-6. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.4 points over those games. As for Bard Early College, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-8 record this season.

American History has already played their next contest, a 52-45 victory against Great Oaks on the 8th. Bard Early College will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Weequahic at 7:00 p.m. on February 18th.
