Softball Recap: Blooming Grove Extends Winning Streak to Five

Blooming Grove had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Frost Polar Bears with a sharp 19-4 victory. That's two games straight that the Lions have won by exactly 15 runs.

Blooming Grove's win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 16-1. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for Frost, their loss dropped their record down to 1-5.

Coming up, Blooming Grove will head out on the road to challenge Palmer at 7:00 p.m. on March 18th. As for Frost, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Rio Vista at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Frost has given up an average of 11.8 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
