Volleyball Recap: Shelby's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Thursday

After flying high against Holton on Tuesday, Shelby came back down to earth. The Tigers took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cedar Springs Red Hawks on Thursday. The Tigers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Red Hawks earlier this season, when they won 2-0.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-15.

Shelby's offense was headlined by Kylie Brown and Briar Peters, who picked up three kills apiece. They got some help from Peyton Rapes and her eight assists.

Shelby moved to 10-15 with that loss, which also ended their three-match winning streak. As for Cedar Springs, their win bumped their record up to 8-21-3.

Shelby wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-1 victory against Hart on the 9th. As for Cedar Springs, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-1 defeat against Zeeland West on the 9th.
