Gwynn Park waltzed into their contest on Thursday with nine straight wins... but they left with ten. They really took it to the Surrattsville Hornets for the full four quarters, racking up an 83-29 win. Given the Yellowjackets' advantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 93rd, while the Hornets are ranked 251st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Gwynn Park's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Reagan Mason, who dropped a double-double with 29 points and 11 steals. Those 11 steals gave Mason a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Maya Pitts, who posted 23 points along with eight rebounds and three steals.

Gwynn Park smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

Gwynn Park pushed their record up to 14-4 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 79.3 points over those games. As for Surrattsville, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-10.

Gwynn Park didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 69-17 win against Chesapeake Math & IT Academy South on the 14th. As for Surrattsville, they will face off against Chesapeake Math & IT Academy North at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
