Baseball Recap: Crittenden County Comes Up Short

Crittenden County was the 11-0 winner over Fort Campbell when they last played one another back in March of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. Crittenden County took a 22-19 hit to the loss column at the hands of Fort Campbell on Saturday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Crittenden County got a massive performance out of Quinn Summers, who went 4-for-6 with two triples, five RBI, and three runs. Those five RBI gave Summers a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaxton Duncan, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in five of his six plate appearances.

Summers wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Crittenden County kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits every time they've taken the field this season.

Crittenden County now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Fort Campbell, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Crittenden County has already played their next matchup (against John Hardin), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Fort Campbell, they will square off against Christian County at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
