Basketball Recap: Gambell King Polar Bear vs. White Mountain Wolves
Gambell was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat dating back to last season. They were dealt a 74-13 loss at the hands of the White Mountain Wolves. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the King Polar Bear this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 66-17 on Friday.
Janissa Noongwook was Gambell's leading scorer, having posted five points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead White Mountain to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kyri Adams, who went 10 for 17 en route to 23 points and three steals. Adams is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Lillian Lausten-Katongan, who went 7 of 14 on her way to 17 points and five boards.
Gambell's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for White Mountain, their win was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-0.
As of now, neither Gambell nor White Mountain have any future games scheduled.
