Softball Recap: Umpqua Valley Christian Has No Trouble Against Oakridge

After losing to Oakridge the last time they met, Umpqua Valley Christian decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Monarchs blew past the Warriors 21-4 on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Monarchs, who have now won four contests by nine runs or more so far this season.

The victory made it two in a row for Umpqua Valley Christian and bumps their season record up to 5-2. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 20.0 runs over those games. As for Oakridge, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-3.

Coming up, Umpqua Valley Christian will welcome Myrtle Point at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Bobcats have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 16.17 runs per game on average), something the Monarchs will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Oakridge, they are taking a road trip to take on La Pine at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
