Volleyball Preview: Hoisington Cardinals vs. Trinity Celtics
Hoisington has been on the road for seven straight, but on Thursday they'll finally head home. After both having extra time off, they and the Trinity Celtics will shake off the cobwebs and face off against one another at 5:00 p.m. Both are at an even 3-3 against one another since October of 2014, but likely not for long.
Last Thursday, Hoisington had just enough and edged Hesston out 2-1.
The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Hoisington who won the one that mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 24-26, 25-21.
Hoisington can attribute much of their success to Gabby Reif, who had 17 digs.
Meanwhile, Trinity entered their tilt with Sacred Heart on Thursday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Knights.
While Trinity won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. The final score came out to 25-23, 25-15.
Hoisington is on a roll lately: they've won 19 of their last 21 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 30-4 record this season. As for Trinity, their win bumped their record up to 13-14.
