Basketball Recap: North Broward Prep Eagles vs. Palmer Trinity Falcons
It was a Battle of the Birds when North Broward Prep challenged Palmer Trinity on Wednesday. The North Broward Prep Eagles were outmatched by the Palmer Trinity Falcons and fell 69-41. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 62-38 back in November of 2024.
Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Makena Longo, who posted 17 points. Abby Krause was another key player, putting up eight points.
Palmer Trinity's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Missy Nieves, who had 19 points and five steals. Nieves continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Esparza, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds.
