Baseball Recap: Leake Academy Comes Up Short

Leake Academy was the 5-2 winner over Lamar when they last played one another last Tuesday, but their luck changed this time around. The Rebels lost 11-1 to the Raiders on Thursday.

Leake Academy saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gage Warren, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-2. Those stolen bases were Warren's first of the season.

Leake Academy dropped their record down to 5-5 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. As for Lamar, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests. That lines up perfectly with their 17-5-2 record this season.

While Leake Academy had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
