St. Ignatius College Preparatory had lost three games on the road, but after bumping their record up to 15-8-2 on Tuesday that streak is in the rearview. Everything went their way against the Saint Francis Lancers as they made off with an 11-1 win. Considering the Wildcats' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Chase Gordon tossed a big game, tossing six innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, St. Ignatius College Preparatory got a massive performance out of DJ Delaney, who got on base in all five of his plate appearances with three RBI, one triple, and one run. What's more, Delaney posted three hits, the most he's had since back in February. Emmett Johnson was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

St. Ignatius College Preparatory always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .538. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Saint Francis only posted an OBP of .231.

As for Saint Francis, their defeat dropped their record down to 19-7. The loss continues a trend for them in their meetings with St. Ignatius College Preparatory: they've now lost five in a row.

On Saint Francis' side, they saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jack Leeper, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: St. Ignatius College Preparatory beat the Lancers by a score of 7-3 on Friday.
