Softball Recap: East Lansing Takes a Loss

East Lansing was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They came up short against the Holt Rams, falling 20-4. The Trojans were not able to make up for their loss to the Rams from their previous meeting back in May of 2023.

Nevaeh Vasquez made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in both of her plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run. Another player making a difference was Talia Dunn, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one double.

East Lansing's defeat dropped their record down to 1-11. As for Holt, their win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-5.

Looking ahead, East Lansing will be playing at home against Lansing Catholic at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Cougars will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Trojans surely won't give up without a fight. As for Holt, they will venture away from home to face off against Mason at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Bulldogs have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.75 runs per game on average), something the Rams will no doubt try to take advantage of.
