Basketball Recap: Augusta E Comes Up Short

Augusta E was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They took a 69-61 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Providence Athletic Club Panthers. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Saturday (59), the Eagles still had to take the loss.

Despite the loss, Augusta E still got an impressive performance from Jude Brouwer, who dropped a double-double on 27 points and 15 rebounds. Brouwer's evening made it eight games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Ben Briley was another key player, dropping a double-double on 15 points and 15 boards.

Brody Tyler had a dynamite game for Providence Athletic Club, going 11 of 25 en route to 26 points and eight rebounds. That's the most points Tyler has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Mark Lara, who posted 12 points in addition to seven boards and five steals.

Augusta E's defeat dropped their record down to 2-14. As for Providence Athletic Club, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 10-11 record.

Augusta E has already played their next contest, a 49-48 win against Mead Hall Episcopal School on the 30th. Providence Athletic Club has also already played their next match (against Palmetto HomeSchool), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
