Football Recap: Russell Comes Up Short

Friday just wasn't the day for Russell's offense. They were outmatched by the Billings West Golden Bears and fell 40-0. If the Rustlers were looking for revenge after losing 38-7 to the Golden Bears when the teams met back in September of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Caleb Taylor threw for 117 yards on 15 of 26 attempts. Ben Cunningham was his top target, picking up 46 receiving yards.

This is the second loss in a row for Russell and nudges their season record down to 2-3. As for Billings West, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 4-1.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Russell will take on rival Billings Senior at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Billings West is set to square off against their familiar foe Skyview at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
