Volleyball Recap: Poquoson Comes Up Short

Poquoson lost against Grafton back in September and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Islanders lost 3-0 to the Clippers. The Islanders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-18, 25-8.

Leading Grafton to victory were Olivia Dela Cruz and Allyson Burke. Dela Cruz had 18 assists and eight digs, while Burke had 19 digs and four aces. That's the most digs Dela Cruz has posted over her last six contests.

Poquoson's loss dropped their record down to 10-4. As for Grafton, the win keeps them at an undefeated 14-0.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Poquoson will take on rival Jamestown at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Grafton is set to challenge their familiar foe Lafayette at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
