Game recap: Strong rushing attack provided by Johansen and Suvorov as Decorah-North Winneshiek high school football team bests Oelwein

Holt Johansen ran for three touchdowns and Mikhail Suvorov added two as well as Decorah-North Winneshiek (Decorah, Iowa) bested Oelwein (Iowa) 63-0 on Saturday.

The Vikings were up 56-0 at the half after taking the lead on a touchdown run by Johansen in the first quarter.

Decorah-North Winneshiek expanded its lead to 63 points entering the fourth quarter. DNW scored once in the quarter on a Andrew Strand touchdown run.

The Decorah school put up 35 points in the first quarter en route to the win. The Vikings rushed for five touchdowns on the ground during the quarter, including two by Jacob Kvale.

Decorah-North Winneshiek came into the game allowing 8.0 points per game.



A 27-7 Decorah-North Winneshiek victory was the result when the squads faced off last season.

Oelwein (0-8) will play a 3A District 5 game against West Delaware next week, while Decorah-North Winneshiek (8-0) will take on Western Dubuque also in a 3A District 5 game.
