Football Game Preview: Central Hinds Academy Cougars vs. Leake Academy Rebels

The Central Hinds Academy Cougars will square off against the Leake Academy Rebels at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

On Friday, Central Hinds Academy was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 30-26 to Riverfield Academy. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the defeat, Central Hinds Academy got top-tier performance from Mason Copeland, who rushed for 98 yards and one score on only eight carries. Copeland got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 58 yards. Fischer Uzzle got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Meanwhile, Leake Academy played a tough matchup on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by Tri-County Academy 52-18. The contest marked Leake Academy's lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Central Hinds Academy will have to contain Garrett Adcock as he made an impact in Leake Academy's last game. He picked up 35 receiving yards and one TD, and also rushed for 78 yards.

Central Hinds Academy's record is now 5-5. As for Leake Academy, their record now sits at 7-2.
