Basketball Recap: Wallace Comes Up Short

Wallace had lost eight straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Thursday they dropped down to 2-15 to make it nine. They had to suffer through a 64-17 loss at the hands of the Mullen Broncos. The Wildcats were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 45-10.

When it comes to explaining why Wallace lost, don't look at Reagan Finley. Despite the final result, she posted eight points and eight boards.

As for Mullen, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 13-4. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.1 points on average over those games.

Mullen found their leader in sophomore Chloe Newman, who went 6-for-10 en route to 14 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. Jenna Donohoe was another key player, putting up nine points and five steals.

Wallace wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 63-37 loss against Maxwell on the 6th. As for Mullen, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 68-29 win against South Loup on the 6th.
