Basketball Recap: Northern Garrett Comes Up Short

Northern Garrett lost against Southern back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Northern Garrett Huskies lost 83-57 to the Southern Rams.

Jared Haskiell continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Southern, going 10 of 22 on his way to 33 points in addition to five assists and three steals. That makes it five consecutive games in which Haskiell has scored at least a third of Southern's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Graham Harvey, who went 6 for 12 on his way to 15 points in addition to eight rebounds and six blocks.

Northern Garrett's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Southern, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-2.

The future could be bright for both Northern Garrett and Southern: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. Northern Garrett will try to hand Shanksville Stonycreek their fourth-straight loss when the two meet at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Southern will look to extend Bishop Walsh's seven-game losing streak when the meet at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
