Basketball Recap: South Florence Comes Up Short

South Florence lost against Wilson back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The South Florence Bruins fell 43-32 to the Wilson Tigers. The game marked the Bruins' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Despite the loss, South Florence still got an impressive performance from Harmony Bostick, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds. Bostick is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down nine or more in the last three games she's played. Allyson Watson was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Wilson got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Logan Murray out in front who went 7 of 14 en route to 17 points and seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of LeaNISSA Swinton, who posted eight points in addition to ten boards and four steals.

South Florence has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-6 record this season. As for Wilson, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which somehow still isn't as good as their 13-4 record this season.

When South Florence and Wilson next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. South Florence will try to stop Lower Richland's five-game winning streak when the meet at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Wilson will take on Darlington and their three-game winning streak at 6:00 p.m. on January 22nd.
