Basketball Recap: Maryvale Starts Season with Loss at Home

Maryvale unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They took a blow against the Boulder Creek Jaguars on Wednesday, falling 40-5. If the Panthers were looking for revenge after losing 63-18 to the Jaguars when the teams met back in November of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Among those leading the charge was Zoshia Wysmierski, who posted 15 points and four steals. Presley Hemstreet was another key player, putting up four points and three steals.

Looking ahead, Maryvale will head out to square off against Queen Creek at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Boulder Creek, they will take on Millennium at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
