Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Northern Nash). Everything went their way against the Franklinton Red Rams on Friday as Northern Nash made off with an 11-0 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 8-7 two weeks ago.

Not much got past Tristan Murray, who gave up just five hits and racked up eight Ks to keep Franklinton off the board. Furthermore, Murray didn't allow a single walk, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in March of 2024.

At the plate, Northern Nash got a big performance out of Marquis Nicholson, who scored a run while going 1-for-4. What's more, Nicholson posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Ben Edgerton, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one double.

The victory made it two in a row for Northern Nash and bumps their season record up to 5-5. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 0 runs in those games. As for Franklinton, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season.

Northern Nash will face off against Roanoke Rapids at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Northern Nash's pitchers better be ready for this one: Roanoke Rapids has averaged an impressive 7.3 runs per game this season. As for Franklinton, they will take on Rocky Mount at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Rocky Mount has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.11 runs per game on average), something Franklinton will no doubt try to take advantage of.
