Baseball Game Preview: Green Level Gators vs. Lee County Yellow Jackets

The Green Level Gators will head out to take on the Lee County Yellow Jackets at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Green Level has now lost 11 straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since March 17.

On Thursday, Green Level came up short against Middle Creek and fell 6-1.

Green Level saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Henry Geiser, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base.

Meanwhile, Lee County didn't have quite enough to beat Scotland on Wednesday and fell 6-4.

Drew Stanfield put in work no matter where he played. He tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. He has become a key player for Lee County: the team is 6-2 when he posts at least two runs, but 4-9 otherwise.

In other batting news, Will Rannells was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Landon Miles also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Lee County's loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 10-11. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the defeats came by an average of only 5.5 runs. As for Green Level, their record now sits at 5-15.
