Baseball Recap: Pisgah Eagles vs. Section Lions

Pisgah stacked a fifth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Thursday. They blew past the Section Lions 10-3. The win was familiar territory for Pisgah who now have three in a row.

Jakob Kirby made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. Kirby was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Ross Smith and Mason Gass did most of the damage at the plate: Smith went 1-for-3 with a home run, while Gass scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-3. JJ Williams was another key contributor, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Pisgah's victory bumped their record up to 9-3. As for Section, they dropped their record down to 4-8 with that loss, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Pisgah will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Fyffe at 4:30 p.m. As for Section, they will head out on the road to square off against Sylvania at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
