Recap: Huntingtown Hurricanes vs. Walkersville Lions
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Huntingtown Hurricanes had no problem doing just that on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 27-7 margin over the Lions. The result was nothing new for Huntingtown, who have now won eight contests by 20 points or more so far this season.
Leading Huntingtown to victory were Landon Cawley and Evan Kuntz. Cawley rushed for 142 yards and a touchdown, while Kuntz rushed for 96 yards and two touchdowns.
The victory was the sixth in a row for Huntingtown, bringing their record for this year to 10-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 35.0 points per game. As for Walkersville, their loss dropped their record down to 7-6.
Huntingtown is on the road again on Thursday and play against Decatur at 7:00 p.m. on November 30th. Decatur has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 475 points over their last 11 matches. Walkersville does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
