Baseball Recap: Wimberley Snags 11th Win in Last 12 Games

There's no place like home for Wimberley, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They blew past the Navarro Panthers 9-2 on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Texans, who have now won six contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Ty Thames and Jaden Hall made a splash while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Thames tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Meanwhile, Hall tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Thames has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. At the plate, Thames went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Hall got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, Wyatt Yeatter was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one triple. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryson Anderson, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.

Wimberley is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-4-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Navarro, with the defeat, they broke their six-game winning streak and moved their record to 18-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wimberley will take on Davenport at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Wolves will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last. As for Navarro, they will face off against Fredericksburg at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Panthers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Billies have averaged an impressive 6.1 runs per game this season.
