Bryan hasn't had much luck against Bellevue East recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Bears will face off against the Chieftains at 4:30 p.m. Bryan has given up an average of 13.9 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Bryan fell victim to York and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They came up short against the Dukes, falling 19-0.
Jacob Lang and Turner Marlowe stepped up to the plate in a big way. Lang went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI, while Marlowe went 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Trey Fondren, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run.
Meanwhile, Bellevue East lost 12-3 to Omaha South on Monday.
Ben Shearer was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. On the mound, he struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.
Bellevue East's defeat dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Bryan, their loss dropped their record down to 5-10.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Bryan has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.9 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Bellevue East struggles in that department as they've been averaging 2.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Bryan might still be hurting after the 13-1 defeat they got from Bellevue East in their previous matchup back in April of 2025. Can the Bears avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
