Football Recap: Bruning-Davenport/Shickley Starts Season with Loss on the Road

Bruning-Davenport/Shickley had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They received a blow on Friday as they fell 30-16 to the Elmwood-Murdock Knights. While the Eagles didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Knights 8-0 in the first quarter.

Elmwood-Murdock's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brody Marsh, who rushed for 193 yards and one TD. Dashiell Coleman was another key player, rushing for 51 yards and one score.

Looking ahead, Bruning-Davenport/Shickley will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Sacred Heart on Friday. As for Elmwood-Murdock, they will head out to face off against Lourdes Central Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
