Soccer Game Preview: JSerra Catholic vs. Orange Lutheran

The JSerra Catholic Lions will head out to square off against the Orange Lutheran Lancers at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. JSerra Catholic will be coming into the match with an undefeated record on the line.

Orange Lutheran better have a healthy lead at halftime, because if last week is any indication, that's when JSerra Catholic really get things going. JSerra Catholic put the hurt on Servite with a sharp 4-1 victory on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Lions, who have now won three contests by three goals or more so far this season.

They hit Servite with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Jake Tatch (2), Gavin Allegaert, and Aquiles Rodriguez.

Meanwhile, Orange Lutheran's game on Friday was all tied up 0-0 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past St. John Bosco 2-1. Given the Lancers' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 37th, while the Braves are ranked 459th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

JSerra Catholic's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-0. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 14 goals over those four games. As for Orange Lutheran, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-2-1.
